"Nursing experience is in mother/baby care. I've worked Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, High Risk Obstetrics, and OB/Gyn Clinic. Academic nurse educator roles have been lab coordinator, OB clinical faculty, community health, First Faculty, and Student Success Coordinator. After attaining Tenure and the rank of Full Professor, I was asked to serve as Interim Dean of the UMHB Scott & White School of Nursing, which is my current position."

    I will teach in the UMHB RN-BSN Program and in the Nurse Educator Track of the UMHB MSN Program

  • In what ways do you connect with online students?

    Email, Panopto video lectures and instructions, discussions, Zoom meetings, calls.

  • Why did you start teaching?

    To give back to the profession by educating the next generation of nurses.

  • What advice would you give to your online students?

    Get organized prior to starting the course. Create a study/classwork schedule and stick to it. Acknowledge that for a time, school will require a great deal of attention, but the future benefits are worth the time and effort.

    "The Man from Snowy River"
