  • Why did you select a career in nursing?

Nursing is truly a calling and has been a desire of mine since I was young. I love the fact that nursing is one of the purest ways we can care for God's people. Listening, caring, tending to and teaching people in some of their most vulnerable times and doing it with a grace and excellence, makes nursing one of the most sacred professions.

  • In what ways do you connect with online students?

Online will allow for flexibility of current nurses to pursue graduate degrees and expand their nursing practice. I look forward to online communications and interactions with students, in a variety of ways, regarding how they can put into practice their didactic learning in the clinical setting.

  • What do you want your students to take away from class?

Deeper knowledge, understanding and growth for their advanced nursing practice.

  • Why did you start teaching?

Nurses are forever learners and forever teachers. UMHB nursing has my heart and I want to give back to the school that helped make me such a successful nurse. I want our students to know we believe in them, and we care about them. I wanted to continue to be a part of nursing excellence and the future of nursing.

    The Bible

My sons are the best at making me laugh! They are so quick witted!
